Special Categories

What are special categories, and how can they be used within LiquidShop?

Special Categories offer you an extra way to categorise your products in addition to the standard categoration within the product browser, it also adds a level of filtering from a customers point of view.

Special Categories can be relabelled to whichever term needed to fit your site, a couple examples of what we have relabelled them to in the past include Activities, Collection, Occasion, and Season.

What do the icons mean?

There are 8 action icons available to use within the category management browser:

  • Magnifying Glass Icon: View the products within the selected special category.
  • Edit Pencil Icon: Modify the settings of the special category of how it appears to your customer.
  • Enable/Disable Icon: This icon will toggle whether the special category is enabled or disabled.
  • Homepage Icon: This icon allows you to set the special category to appear on the homepage.
  • Delete Icon: If you would like to remove a special category, you can use this icon.
  • Reorder Icon: Using the drag-and-drop function, you can reorder you special categories.
