Shipping Calculation Options

Shipping Calculation Options

With regard to the way we can set up delivery for you, there are 3 differnet ways that the delivery charge for an order can be calculated.

Flat Rate: This method consists of a single charge that is applied regardless of the contents or total value of the basket. We can add a free shipping level to the method. i.e. £3.95 for delivery, Free Delivery for orders over £50.

Weight Based: This method involves assigning each product a weight (in grams), at the checkout the total charge for the order is calculated based on your predefined shipping matrix. For example...

00g - 10g = £1.95 for delivery
11g - 20g = £2.95 for delivery
21g - 30g = £3.95 for delivery
31g - 40g = £4.95 for delivery

Item Rate: This method involves assigning each product a delivery charge, at the checkout all of the charges will be used to calculate the total delivery charge for the order.

For example, lighter items could be assigned £1 for delivery and heavier or bulkier items could be assigned £5 for delivery, so that if one of each was added to the basket the total charge would be £6.

A base charge can also be assigned to this method, so if a base charge of £1.95 was used for the example above the total delivery charge would be £7.95.
